Help connect Stanhope
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Stanhope’s Slow Ways.

Proceeding through the gate, the path condition is good, with views of the river to the left and the flooded Greenfoot quarry to the right, a site of special scientific interest. Following the fence line for approximately 5 minutes, a public gate behind a private property is reached entering a more uneven wooded area, but still a path in good condition, reconnecting the walk back to the riverbank. Continuing the walk through the wooded area, the path diverges slightly from the river bank and meets the train tracks again, this time separated by a wire fence. For those looking for a short walk when in the area I can recommend this until the point where my outbound walk ended however until a more adventurous reviewer ventures through the thistles or this section of the walk improves, I cannot provide a more substantive comment....
