The route of the first 5K (up to the intersection of Cox Hill and Common Lane) is identical to Stastu (one and two). From there the tar road leads into Marnhull. See my review of Stastu....

Mainly on trails, farm tracks and paths along the edge of the fields. Mostly well maintained, but some sections, for example two near Shepherd Farm, are deeply overgrown, but alternatives are available I found....

Paths are all there and mostly well signposted, though not entirely visible across some fields between Stalbridge and Purse Caundle - was fine to navigate with the route downloaded on a smartphone....
