Latest Updates
The first 1.5km are urban pavement walking with a good surface. Beyond Standen Hall a good footpath takes you to a quiet B road before the tricky A59 crossing. A bit of road walking into the pretty village of Pendleton before a footpath heads off across fields to Wymondhouses....

Nice route avoiding roads. Clear footpaths. A bit wet in parts but to be expected given the wet July....

This is a pleasant walk connecting the bustling village of Whalley with the quieter village of Sabden. The route runs through fields, with more urban sections at either end. There are sections of minor road but these have very little traffic....

The route soon left the village of Sabden along a farm track which gradually climbed the flank of a hill, affording nice views back to Sabden, and forward across fields (with someone tobogganing when I was there) to the wooded slope. This short section of road went over the brow of the hill so the views changed....

Where the fence turned away to the north east, there was a stile, and I can now see, from Google satellite view, that there is a trodden path on the other side of the fence, which I would use next time! I think this would be a lovely route in the summer – if you took the path the other side of the fence....

This is a great route with a bit of uphill walking affording spectacular views across the Ribble Valley and Pendle....
