Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

A thoroughly enjoyable walk which I used to get to Wigmore Hall. Safe, direct and very easy to follow. Crossing suggestions could be useful at busier times but I didn't find them to be essential....
David Sanderson
Both ends have good transport hubs, but Paddington is particularly good having been recently renovated....
DaveHilton
A good direct easy to navigate route with lots of interest along the way....
Strider
I *mostly* followed this route, but only because I walk here very often and went on autopilot → I got into the park at Porchester Terrace. It's a good route though, except for the really busy part on Kensingon High Street. Just too many people....
Derick Rethans
This is mostly Hyde Park which has good paths....
Strider
There aren't any sign posts in the Kensington Gardens (which would be a nice addition) but if you head through the park and head diagonally towards Lancaster Gate it's pretty straight forward....
Slow Ways Darren
I wanted to stay walking along the canal but route takes you away to get to Kilburn. Lovely houses around Madia Vale !...
Laura Haigh
A pleasant walk mostly through Kensington Park....
Paul Chilcott
Interesting urban walk with quite a range of streets and neighbourhoods, high streets and parks. Transport never far away. The park sections do close at dusk but are easily navigable around....
Dan Barron
mtormey added Kenpad three, a new walk from Kensington to Paddington Station
Walk this routeThis route meets up with the Jubilee Greenway walk on the Broad Walk in front of Kensington Palace and follows that route through the streets along the side of Paddington Station....
mtormey
It's not a bad route; it's direct, safe, accessible, and the part after Maida Vale is quite pleasant and attractive. I walked the big Maida Vale road on a Saturday evening of a bank holiday, so it was quiet, and the pavements are wide, so it really wasn't too bad. I definitely prefer Kilpad two, but this route isn't so bad, either!!...
mtormey
The connection from Paddington to Hyde Park is perfectly satisfactory; I'd probably prefer Padkni two, but this route works, too!...
mtormey
It’s not the route’s fault really, I just hate the roads around Hyde Park and find them really unpleasant to walk among. The route itself is perfectly plotted and balances competing interests nicely to connect you on foot where you’re trying to go!...
mtormey
And if you arrive at Paddington with time to spare before your train I’d recommend The Victoria, a London boozer as the route turns onto Sussex Place where you can grab a drink and leave to head to your platform about 15-20 mins before departure....
Ruth Shippobotham
Lovely walk between Kensington and Paddington through Kensington Gardens. The streets at either end are busy and cluttered, but the central section is green and organised. Good Slow Ways route - easy to follow, direct abd and pleasant....
Jane Taylor
The alternative Kilpad two is much nicer, and is also less confusing near Little Venice. (Disclosure: I added that)...
Derick Rethans
It's an OK route, but Oxford Street is sooooo slow. I much more prefer Padoxf two, which follows a lot less busy streets....
Derick Rethans
It's a great walk, with lots of benefits - there's a long stretch in the lovely Hyde Park, there are some lovely residential neighbourhoods and vibrant High Streets, several quiet open spaces, and any shop you could ever need at the Shepherds Bush end....
mtormey
I have walked this route many times, in both directions, even before SlowWays existed. I also much more prefer this over Padoxf 1, and have little more to add to the first reviewer....
Derick Rethans
I've only dinged a star because the last bit along Kensington High Street is longer than my patience for the traffic-soaked mess that is Kensington High Street can take....
mtormey
It's a perfect Slow Ways route - direct, accessible, off road, safe, pleasant and beautiful....

Jane Taylor added Padoxf two, a new walk from Paddington Station to Oxford Circus
Walk this routeA solid route which avoids Oxford Street, but is still direct. Just behind Oxford Street is Cavendish Square, a large open-to-all grassy square, good for picnics....
Jane Taylor
I especially like the way it goes through Paddington station along the platforms, on what iirc used to be a taxi road; the taxis could draw up more or less alongside the trains....
Jane Taylor
The first is avoiding Praed Street by using the quieter but parallel St Michael's Street while the second is turning left off Marylebone Road into Lisson Grove and then turning in Harewood Row....
John Pestle
There are still some building works in progress which might allow for diversions; for example passing through Regent Square might be an option and works as you arrive at Euston Station might require some deviations....
John Pestle
Marylebone is a great neighbourhood to walk through so I thought the walk lost something when it joined the main, Edgware Road....
David Sanderson
I agree with the previous reviewer - definitely a route of two halves, with the quieter section through the Hyde Park estate from Paddington to Marble Arch, and the more vibrant section along Oxford Street. There are plenty of refreshment options, although the route isn't long, and the prices can be - well, it's an expensive area! All of the route is paved with no barriers that would present difficulties for wheels....
Martin McGovern
At the present time (March 2022) there's quite a bit of building work around Paddington Station, and some entrances to the station are closed. But this is a nice enough walk; as other reviewers have noted, it does have a significant flight of steps from Bishop's Bridge Road to the canal, but the diversion mentioned is fine. This route works well with adjacent Slow Ways....
Martin McGovern
Good route through Hyde park. Could be slightly more direct....
fedora_1
Curiously, Serpentine Walk that is the most direct route to Hyde Park from the station was blocked off at the northern gate, which I've walked through many times before. This meant I had to detour through Edinburgh Gate to the west, which can't be blocked for pedestrians....
Derick Rethans
For a step free route exit the station turn right and right again to join the plotted route, this walk is then suitable for wheel chairs....
Strider
This route quickly gets off the main road and goes past Maida Vale station along a road full of the bustle of everyday life....
Strider
There is road walking after leaving Paddington Station along Praed Street across the Edgware Road towards Regents Park....
Strider
from Paddington to Marble Arch, the route follows largely quiet residential streets....
mtormey
I liked the bit along the canal quite a lot, and then the walk through more residential neighbourhoods was quite pleasant, too. No complaints here! Great route....
mtormey
It was drawn perfectly around Euston Station despite the HS2 construction, and it did a pretty good job sticking to quieter streets and crossing at only safe crossing points. Lots of interesting neighborhourhoods to explore as I made my way across London!...
mtormey
Just note that right at Paddington Station the route is drawn as cutting off buildings; you can just walk straight and turn right at the London Road intersection....
mtormey
- I found it a bit tricky to navigate through Paddington Station, but I followed the signs “to taxis” and then “to grand union canal” and I think that got me where I needed to go....
mtormey
Look for the sociable parakeets as the route passes The Long Water (the tail of the Serpentine)....
danravenellison
I'm going to add an alternative (Padkni Two) that's more direct and makes use of a fun passage....

danravenellison added Padkni two, a new walk from Paddington Station to Knightsbridge
Walk this routeThis route is direct, easy to follow and crosses one of Britain's most famous parks. What's not to like?...
danravenellison
This is mostly a good route, but you can't walk through Ladbroke Square Gardens as this is private land. I'm going to upload a Shepad Three to fix this issue....

Walk this routeThis is a good route that's diverse and interesting to explore. There are a few places that you might well want to drift around and explore....

Walk this routeA pretty good route, but besides the bit along the canal, almost exclusively through residential areas....

Timing based on brisk walking, no time to pat the dog. At the end need to go down the escalator after the taxi rank at the station....
