It’s a gentle and straightforward walk with a good mix of fields, woodland, and road sections. However, the turn mentioned in below comment is masked by lush vegetation in the summer and can be easily missed, so keep an eye out as you approach....

I was pleasantly surprised to find that this portion of the Monarch's Way is much easier to walk compared to the section further north, where the path is completely overgrown. The route from Northleach to Burford mainly follows very quiet roads, making it quite easy to navigate. This is one of the poshest areas in the UK, with a few charming villages along the way....

At Woodland Farm, there is a large sign indicating it's a private road, but if you walk past it and around the house, you'll find public pathway signage that leads you back to the fields....
Tony Or
The road conditions are very good, with minimal muddy or overgrown paths (at least during the summer). The route ends in a popular tourist town with plenty of pubs and shops for resupply....

Though the road is suitable for wheels, some parts are on very narrow road where you would need to find room to move aside for vehicles, which might be a challenge for wheels....

We went from Colesbourne to Northleach, and most of the navigation is straightforward, but some parts will probably require a close eye on the map. The terrain is largely gentle, but there are overgrown parts in the summer that have bramble and nettle, and even long trousers couldn't keep the stinging away! Before reaching the end point of this route, we stopped by the Prison Cafe for lunch and refreshments, where there are also toilets and tables....

This route is straightforward, mostly level walking along minor roads, though there is off-road into Farmington and between Sherborne and Little Barrington....

The remaining 15% is on footpaths, which aren't suitable for wheels (stiles, bumpy terrain and the rest) but you could take the road instead....
Martin McGovern
Turned right along path to Roman Villa ( NT, Toilets, Food ). Had recently followed your route to Chedworth; this is a good all-weather route....

Safe walk, although notice saying Bull in field at Northleach....

I'd agree with the previous review that it's definitely a walk of two halves – between Northleach and Rendcomb is a lovely meander through lots of open countryside and woodland, while Rendcomb to Cirencester is a pretty straight shot south following the river, but dips into some really nice little hamlets along the way. For much of the route there's no good alternative to the marked path unless you want to walk along White Way (a fairly quiet but pavement-less road which runs parallel and about 1km East of the A435) However at Baunton you have the option of a path from ///eyeliner.headboard.young to ///neon.laugh.grumble which runs along the top of a ridge, slightly East of the marked path and likely to be much drier...

At Chedworth Nature Reserve the Slow Ways route follows a path through the woods that doesn’t exist....

From Rendcomb to Cirencester you walk through the river valley, mostly through scruffy field margins....
