Passes by farmland, woods, park, lake, .. The gpx is excellent....

Very nice route, and accurately plotted. I ran from South to North. Good views and easy to find paths, some mud....

An alternative more on path route through Swinderby, Morton & Tunman Woods might be possible....

The first shows the viaduct approaching the river Trent from the west, and the other two show the views down to the riverside path from either side of the bridge on the west side of the river....

I don't see this as a good reason to change the route, as the farmer should know better. There is also a cycle route back to Church Lane from about half a kilometer beyond this bridge which could be used to work a way back to the SUTNOR 1 route....

Walk this routeAnyway, once you've crossed the busy Dodington Road turn left along it and look for a public footpath sign pointing to the right. Turn left and follow the path between the houses and the ditch until you reach a T Junction with a broader track (Pig Lane) Turn right and cross the ditch before immediately turning left along a well marked track. Walk in front of them (ignoring the public footpath sign pointing behind them) and turn left into a quiet residential street. At the end of the path turn left and follow the road to a junction. Eventually it turns to the left and shortly afterwards a footpath sign points to a well delineated path across a footbridge and some fields to a road....

(When the ditch meets the Witham the footpaths can be a little confusing - the signed path takes you away from the river through a farmyard and onto the busy Hykeham Road. It's not much of a detour but not particularly pleasant. Instead take the other, unsigned, path through a gate and between fences which takes you to the river bank.) Once you cross the very busy Newark Road go through the car park to the left of the Plough Inn and take the well surfaced Riverside Path which leads right into the centre of Lincoln....
