A good walk with lots of shops restaurants and views across the Thames....

Okay there were some monotonous road parts but there was also so many things to see....
Strider
A straight forward walk across the bridge, as others have said it's busy but some good views across the river...
Dan Barron
Doesn't have the views along the Thames or the big name attractions of Watlon 2 but still lively and interesting and crucially avoids the crowds. Flat land with no flights of stairs except going through the Old Guys Hospital near London Bridge, where there are very obvious ramps. There is a slope up to the meeting point at Waterloo Station....

Daisy C added Watlon four, a new walk from Waterloo Station to London Bridge Station
Walk this routeI walked from London Bridge to Waterloo. This is the walk I recommend to visitors, but ending at London Bridge having brought food in Borough market....

I walked from Monument to London Bridge Station....

I thought it was great- vibrant Peckham, and onto a tree lined path and a park. Plenty to keep my interest throughout the walk....

Functional for getting a to b, but not a proper slow ways route....
EB
Straightforward route crossing the Thames over London Bridge with lots of central London's landmark buildings and the Monument to the great fire of London In view along the way....
Mockymock
A pleasant walk through old warehouses and following Thames Path. Very accessible with flat cobblestones. Nice views of the river....
Lizbiz70
The most spectacular include Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, but in the dark the towers of the City and Docklands look especially good. The bright side of light pollution....

This 3.5k route starts off quite busy between London Bridge station and Tower Bridge, but once you pass all the tourists (on the weekends), you end up on a lovely route that is side by side with the cycle route to Canada Water. There are a few traffic spots and roads to cross to watch out for, but on a nice day this route can be done in 30-40 minutes on foot. I would walk it again and it's as safe as any walking route in London....
Samuel Lefevre
Clear mapping and an obvious route to take on the ground, full points for navigation. Great views from the bridge too. I walked north from L Bridge to Monument....
Daisy C
Very easy, nice views but along a busy road...
Dannyash
The creator of this route is right in that it is more accurate than the original version for getting into and out of the stations. They also mention some steps which can be avoided at the London Bridge end by going through Borough Market (also more interesting!). Overall a great route along the south bank with nice views and plenty to see...
Dannyash
A very pleasant walk, with ample space for having a side-by-side conversation....

This is a great route, I'm just concerned about the accuracy of the plotting around London Bridge. I've uploaded an alternative that is more accurate....
mtormey
Simple, easy to follow, gorgeous, short, direct....

This is a lovely route, but I don't want to verify because the approaches to the end stations on both ends are incorrectly plotted! I figure it's worth having an accurate route, so I've uploaded slightly more accurate alternative....
mtormey
It's lovely, direct, simple, and easy to follow. There are sets of stairs on both ends to note. You really can't beat the South Bank!...
mtormey
I would get onto the Thames Path as soon as possible, once you either leave London Bridge Station, or, as I did, get off a bus....
Intrepid Rabbit
The other thing to note if you are not familiar with this part of London, is that the Kennington end of the route is at Oval tube station NOT Kennington tube station which is part of the way along the route....
Intrepid Rabbit
It includes the Surrey Canal Walk, which is a favourite walk of mine, leading to Burgess Park (also on the site of a filled in canal)....
Intrepid Rabbit
Lovely route along the river, mostly traffic free....
Charles Hedley
More direct route than Loncan one along a busy road....

A short walk, with a lovely view of Tower Bridge from London Bridge. It's easy to walk, although going up and down the bridge has a little bit of an incline....
Derick Rethans
It was a little complicated to navigate from London Bridge station to the river as GPS under buildings does not work....
Derick Rethans
A nice easy route along the Thames Path. Suitable for all....

Once over the bridge going south, there are multiple ways to get to the Shard, with the smoothest being up Railway Approach, rather than Duke Street Hill which the physical route implies....
Martin McGovern
As with nearby routes Charing Cross to Monument, and London Bridge to Monument, this short route provides spectacular views of the riverscape....

From here on it really takes advantage of the green spaces - first with Burgess Park and a walk round the lake, then with the green route up to Peckham using the Surrey Canal path....

Apart from the section going Lower Road near Canada Water, this is a nice walk along the river....

The pavements can get busy, but otherwise there should be no issues navigating with a wheelchair or buggy....
Steff
Traffic is very light and there are lots of pedestrians and cyclists using the road, so I don’t see this as a big issue....
