Latest Updates

A straight forward walk across the bridge, as others have said it's busy but some good views across the river...

Dan Barron

Walk this route

Doesn't have the views along the Thames or the big name attractions of Watlon 2 but still lively and interesting and crucially avoids the crowds. Flat land with no flights of stairs except going through the Old Guys Hospital near London Bridge, where there are very obvious ramps. There is a slope up to the meeting point at Waterloo Station....

I walked from London Bridge to Waterloo. This is the walk I recommend to visitors, but ending at London Bridge having brought food in Borough market....

I thought it was great- vibrant Peckham, and onto a tree lined path and a park. Plenty to keep my interest throughout the walk....

Walk this route

Functional for getting a to b, but not a proper slow ways route....

Straightforward route crossing the Thames over London Bridge with lots of central London's landmark buildings and the Monument to the great fire of London In view along the way....

Walk this route

A pleasant walk through old warehouses and following Thames Path. Very accessible with flat cobblestones. Nice views of the river....

Walk this route

The most spectacular include Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, but in the dark the towers of the City and Docklands look especially good. The bright side of light pollution....

Walk this route

This 3.5k route starts off quite busy between London Bridge station and Tower Bridge, but once you pass all the tourists (on the weekends), you end up on a lovely route that is side by side with the cycle route to Canada Water. There are a few traffic spots and roads to cross to watch out for, but on a nice day this route can be done in 30-40 minutes on foot. I would walk it again and it's as safe as any walking route in London....

Samuel Lefevre

Walk this route

Clear mapping and an obvious route to take on the ground, full points for navigation. Great views from the bridge too. I walked north from L Bridge to Monument....

Daisy C

Walk this route

Very easy, nice views but along a busy road...

Dannyash

Walk this route

The creator of this route is right in that it is more accurate than the original version for getting into and out of the stations. They also mention some steps which can be avoided at the London Bridge end by going through Borough Market (also more interesting!). Overall a great route along the south bank with nice views and plenty to see...

mtormey

Walk this route

This is a lovely route, but I don't want to verify because the approaches to the end stations on both ends are incorrectly plotted! I figure it's worth having an accurate route, so I've uploaded slightly more accurate alternative....

Walk this route

It's lovely, direct, simple, and easy to follow. There are sets of stairs on both ends to note. You really can't beat the South Bank!...

The other thing to note if you are not familiar with this part of London, is that the Kennington end of the route is at Oval tube station NOT Kennington tube station which is part of the way along the route....
