Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Knightsbridge’s Slow Ways.

I set off for this walk from Oxford Circus towards the less frantic end of Oxford street, then into Hyde park before finishing at Knightsbridge station....

Walked this route on a sunny evening as an extension to Batvic 1 (see review) so that we walked, ultimately, from Battersea to Bayswater over about two hours. The end in Kinghtsbridge is easy to then extend to cross Hyde Park and into Bayswater. The route gets more and more glamorous as you go along (see pics. And hope I haven’t muddled up the two routes), and is thus a great deal of fun taking in the Norwegian Embassy, the Office for National Statistics and so on....

Very straight forward easily navigated route; although today (June 23) there was a big event in Hyde Park blocking the route (see pictures) but it was easy enough to walk around back onto the mapped path....
Strider
Added a lot of length to the route walking back and forth across the road and down side streets around barriers (June 2023). The pavement under foot made of Yorkshire flagstone, dug out to get at the coal and used a paving, you can see the black coal streaks waving through the stone reminding you of the foundation of where all this wealth came from, the earth....

This is mostly Hyde Park which has good paths....

Lots of poshness on this short urban walk....

If you have no reason to go down Oxford Street, this is absolutely the correct route to take!...

A lovely mostly off-road route through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. A real gem in the capital....

Derick Rethans added Knioxf three, a new walk from Knightsbridge to Oxford Circus
Walk this routeThis route is both terribly inaccurately drawn, and has access issues (like going in between the museums)....
Derick Rethans
It's not too much out of what I really walked in Hyde Park, so I am not going to bother with a new route....
Derick Rethans
It's a good and direct route. But Oxford Street on a Saturday is too slow, even for slow ways :-). It also makes no sense to walk the route around Marble Arch as this one does, as it's not a walkable part really. Much better would be to cross right next to Marble Arch....
Derick Rethans
One is the lovely Hyde Park, and the other half the streets south of Oxford Circus, but a lot less busy (except for the short section on Regent's Street). I prefer this over Knioxf 1 & 2....
Derick Rethans
So if you're heading north, just go straight to Speaker's Corner and cross straight to Marble Arch....

The connection from Paddington to Hyde Park is perfectly satisfactory; I'd probably prefer Padkni two, but this route works, too!...

Lynn Jackson added Knioxf two, a new walk from Knightsbridge to Oxford Circus
Walk this routeBe aware that there are regular Hyde Park events that will prevent you from following this exact route The Park. I won't give a lower rating however because it is a lovely route; just be aware that you'll need to walk around the closed-off areas and that may take a few more minutes....
Lynn Jackson
My walking companion and I were unable to use Knioxf 1 because an event in Hyde Park had fenced a large part of the route off. And because a heatwave had hit over 30 degC, after Oxford Street we were grateful for the trees that lined the path. If you need shade, this is the route to use....
Lynn Jackson
Overall, a great Slow Ways route, and one I'd happily recommend again....
mtormey
It's a perfect Slow Ways route - direct, accessible, off road, safe, pleasant and beautiful....

The route starts on Kensington High Street and has a lot of traffic and people, but soon it turns off into Kensington Gardens. At around the half way point, where Kensington Gardens turns into Hyde Park, I stopped for refreshments at the Pavilion cafe, which is right by the path....

Its a good urban walk through the heart of Belgravia - including Belgrave Square and Eaton Square. Fairly direct, lots of embassies, Bentleys are the car of preference in this area. I've dropped a star because I would have liked less Knightsbridge in my Knightsbridge walk - get onto the back streets sooner....

Good route through Hyde park. Could be slightly more direct....

I did the whole route along the Chelsea High Street but it ended somewhat anticlimactically at the Chelsea node!...
mtormey
I walked this from Victoria to Knight's Bridge and it follows along pleasant enough streets, and a square full of embassies. I'm giving it 4 stars because sometimes the car traffic is annoyingly in the way and requires the walkers to wait....
Derick Rethans
A solid urban slow ways route, with bits of greenery, active shopping areas, and quiet residential streets. A special plus on this route was passing by several embassy buildings! Easily four stars, a perfectly good connection between these two points...
mtormey
Curiously, Serpentine Walk that is the most direct route to Hyde Park from the station was blocked off at the northern gate, which I've walked through many times before. This meant I had to detour through Edinburgh Gate to the west, which can't be blocked for pedestrians....
Derick Rethans
Otherwise, I had no navigational troubles and thought it was a perfectly pleasant and lovely route!...

This is a good, direct and mostly off-road route that makes good use of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens....

I'm going to add an alternative (Padkni Two) that's more direct and makes use of a fun passage....
