Help connect Kincardine
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Kincardine’s Slow Ways.

Instead, following North Approach Road towards the South until you see the traffic lights where you can cross the A985 and go under the Fife Coastal Path Arch, then turn left to join the path to Culross (indicated by a blue dotted line in the Open Street Map)....

At the end of this road the route crosses the River Carron and the Forth and Clyde Canal to arrive on the edge of Grangemouth. After a short section along the side of the canal the route zigzags through Old Town and arrives at the centre of Grangemouth via a quiet road adjacent to the A904....

Review of SlowWays Route Bankin2 (Bannockburn to Kincardine). The first part of the route (or last, if coming the other way) heads out of Kincardine and across the Kincardine on Forth Bridge. The route then follows a quiet country road before emerging on the A 905. Turning right here (the signpost is hidden by thick foliage) leads onto a good track to Cowie (with excellent, panoramic views) and then metalled roads through the village and out again via Bannockburn Road....

Walk this routeReview of SlowWays Route Bankin1 (Bannockburn to Kincardine). I walked this route on a day of sunshine and showers in June 2022. The main challenges with the route are (1) a section on roadway with no pavement; (2) a section along the edge of a cereal field with no discernible footpath and (3) an apparent block to the route which requires a significant detour....

The coastal path, whilst it would be lovely to walk is rarely used and very rough underfoot as the old river embankment is make of boulders and as trigky as a rough mountain top. Better to use Grakin one from Kincardinen as far as the River Carron and then use this to Falkirk along the canal...

On the main road A876 the road is busy but the footpaths ok. If going to Kincardine I'd recommend walking on the east side of the road and bridge and crossing at the traffic lights in Kincardine. If heading for the Clackmanannshire bridge use the agricultural bride to cross the A876 safely...
