Help connect Hythe
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Hythe’s Slow Ways.

If you're after a walk along the sea, this is ideal, but there's not much else to see, so for more variation in environment, the other route may be more suited. Very exposed, so on a windy day, you may prefer to take the more inland route if you'd rather avoid being buffeted....

It allows you to walk and enjoy plenty of scenery and a good balance between countryside and sea views....

Prevailing wind is west to east so easier walking Hythe to Folkestone than Folkestone to Hythe....

A shallower incline is possible by continuing along Lower Sandgate Road towards Folkestone Harbour, and then turning left up Road of Remembrance to the upper Leas, and continuing ahead, west, to Castle Hill Avenue....

An alternative to this is to follow the parallel road road - A259/Sandgate High Street, then Castle Rd, Radnor Cliff and Lower Sandgate Road....
