Help connect Hornsea
Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Hornsea’s Slow Ways.

andy_mackay added Brihor two, a new walk from Bridlington to Hornsea
Walk this routeIt’s a 10 mile plus route off main roads or on pavements in towns. Hard surface in places and more cinder track and subject to weather in a few areas. I’d only mark it down as it maybe lacks interesting scenery in places, but in a route this long that is alway likely....

The TPT is well used by cyclists but as the route is almost completely straight and fairly wide this was fine for walking. Good pub lunch at Railway Inn, New Ellerby....

Have only walked the section from Ellerby Gatehouse to Hornsea but this is a well used route through lovely East Yorkshire countryside and is especially well maintained at the Hornsea end. Good pubs at New Ellerby and Great Hatfield both serving food and an interesting late Georgian church just off the route at Goxhill....

The other section between the A165-A1035 roundabout and Beverley is almost all paved underfoot. If you are walking Hornsea to Beverley, the cafe is at 14km into the walk....

Walk this routeA nice and varied route - quiet country roads, bridle ways, river and dyke paths, arable land, lake views....

Unfortunately I can’t recommend it because there’s a 3km section which is on private land where there’s no Right of Way. This is between Park Lane at Weel Carr and Meaux Bridge. Also, crossing the A165 is dangerous, especially since just nearby there’s an underpass....
