I really enjoyed the part from Soberton to Horndean, but found the walk from Bishops Waltham to Swanmore incredibly dull. (although the same could be said about the other end walking though Horndean!) That said Bishops Waltham is a beautiful Historic Market Town and well worth the visit....

A lovely walk through classic English countryside from the beautiful rural village of Corhampton to Horndean, passing through rolling hills, open fields, woodlands, and many picturesque rural villages (many with pubs). Some steep hills, but suitable for all age of walkers! If you don't fancy the full walk: Horndean to Hambledon (about half way) is a lovely shorter alterative (with a good pub, café and shop, bus links and accommodation)...

From Buriton to Horndean included lovely views and other than a bit of a pull up slopes in QE Park and towards the end was not particularly strenuous....

I'm sure it's moderately more pleasant than just following Havant Road, but the road has pavements. The roundabout at Havant Road is ok, with medians, just a bit annoying to cross. The path coming off Havant Road into Stein Wood is a bit overgown, but manageable....

I walked this route from Petersfield to Horndean. Very quickly, the route gets out into open countryside, where the paths wind their way through rolling hills and valleys, all green and lush when I walked in May....

It was quite hilly in places as you'd expect in this area but the Staunton Way was well maintained and the rest of the route was well sign posted. It's quite an exposed route so I wouldn't want to do it if it was very wet or hot, but on a sunny October morning it was glorious....
