The part from Holmes Chapel to Goostrey has very little scope to go wrong, after Goostrey and once into woods and across open fields something like OS Maps (GPS based) certainly helps with the navigation....

The section of the route from there until crossing the M6 was really nice, I thought, with easy to follow, smooth bridleways, woodland paths, and gravel tracks, and it was picturesque passing the meres. After crossing the fairly busy A530 onto Davenham Road it seemed a bit quieter, and a lot quieter on the single-track road north from the crossroads. The A556 was another busy road to cross, the best place to cross was opposite where the route continues north, using marked paving through the dual carriageway barriers. I encountered a group of excellent volunteers who were clearing the overgrowth and reinforcing the correct route to take, which is nearer the railway, as opposed to the river and lakes which are used for fishing....

Walk this routeAt the moment, it is not possible to use the public footpath through Toft Woods / Windmill Wood, between Goughs Lane in Knutsford and Seven Sisters Lane in Toft, due to tree-felling....

A stile in the middle of the field was not in great condition, it also had a significantly deep puddle of smelly water around it. Fortunately, being very agile we managed to get safely over....

Fantastic country side walk with very few roads, lovely areas of open fields, sections with woodlands and rivers. At one point, a field gate between Peover and Goostry said beware of the horses, however there weren’t any horses at the time. Potentially something to be aware of....

The footpath around Park Farm Marina and Park Farm was very overgrown and difficult to find. An alternative route around this area may be necessary....

A pleasant route across farmland, past Peover Hall and through woodland. The route was clear. It was particularly wet before I walked it, so was very boggy in places....

A mix of walking through grass and wheat fields, road walking on a slightly dangerous road with no footpath, and clear and easy to follow tracks. You need good walking boots and a good map for this route....
