Help connect Gosport

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Gosport’s Slow Ways.

Plenty of wide open paths along the seafront. Would be good for bike rides. Mainly out of town...

Really short and direct walk (and ferry ride) from Gosport to Portsmouth and Southsea train station. We needed to take a detour around Victoria park which didn't allowed dogs and also might have been padlocked on the south east gate. The detour is obvious though....

The gates at Victoria park, just before Portsmouth and Southsea station said that dogs weren't allowed in the park, but this could easily be avoided by staying on the southside of the train tracks for the last couple of hundred meters....

Walk this route

This route is a good route but there is a better one north up the Alver Valley which is grade 2 and accessible. It has the advantage of going off road through some beautiful countryside to get to Stubbington. This new route Stugos 2 needs adding, whereupon a group of volunteers from Gosport Labour Party and the Rainbow Bar Community Archaeology project will survey and review it....

Much of the route is shared cycle path so good for cycling and/or wheelchair access. As the route hugs the coastline its pavements or roads all the way although you could walk along the promenade in places. Not the most exciting route although the view of the sea and Isle of Wight are lovely....
