The path leaving the Newtown district of Ebbw Vale does not follow the line shown on the gpx file, or the OS map. At East 317280 North 209948 it skirts the small depression to the north, not to the south as shown on both the OS map and the gpx file....

A couple of the styles around the golf course are conventional (Photo 1 - I`ve never seen a carpeted style before!), but there are also a couple at the point where you leave the course on to the lane taking you down into Nantyglo, where you have to duck under (Photo 3). There are no signs or waymarkers going up or coming down the mountain, but the paths were obvious until it came to getting down off the mountain and through the fields to the lane on the outskirts of Ebbw Vale. A straight forward and functional SlowWay across the hills at the top end of the mountain Mynydd Carn y Cefn....

A pleasant enough short walk, but too many work arounds needed after leaving the road coming out of Tredegar and then getting down into Ebbw Vale...

Climbing of gates and fences was involved near Tir Watkin and Chaplehouse, which ruins an otherwise lovely route....
