An easy, quiet walk through Wandsworth common and pleasant, tree lined residential streets. It was a nice touch routing part of the walk through the open well kept cemetery. Apart from separating one from the traffic ( which wasn’t especially busy) it is a subtle reminder of the why it is important to take time out to enjoy a good walk....

After Bolingbroke Green there's a footpath that cuts a corner between Comyn Road and Eckstein Road alongside a hoarding....

Photo 6 is an original garden wall on Loxley Road made of reused bricks, and the materials and patterns varied along the road. One review of EarCla 2 wasn't keen on the railway-side path up the west side of the common and suggested a path beside Bolingbroke Road on the east. Chivalry Road is one-way-traffic (photo 12) and very quiet....

Daisy C added Earcla three, a new walk from Earlsfield to Clapham Junction
Walk this routeThe river seems very healthy with lots of jewel green water plants below the clear water although being set back also means it's not as visible all the time, but that's better for the wildlife....

As noted, this is a very practical route - probably one of the most direct of all Slow Ways, though less green than its Earcla two sibling. There are shops at each end, but solely residential in the middle, but with a route of this length, that's not really a problem. And the quiet roads make it suitable even for nervous cyclists....

One suggestion - if you are walking down Magdalen Road - it is a very long fairly standard residential road, if Wandsworth Cemetery is open you can pop into there and walk parallel to the road for a stretch which is a little more pleasant....

After turning off the common you walk through some very nice streets before a long gradual hill which is pleasant to walk along....

Partly follows the Capital Ring, best mostly off-road route....

A direct and enjoyable route between Tooting Broadway and Earlsfield!...

For me, highlights included walking through the beautiful arches of Henry Prince Estate (where the mayor of London Sadiq Khan was born) and across the lovely river Wandle....

Good, direct route between Tooting Broadway and Earlsfield. The main road is a bit busy, but the pavement is wide and good. It also includes a bit of green space and interesting bits like Streatham Cemetery and the Earlsfield Public Library....

A straightforward direct route, which was fairly pleasant despite some of it being along a main road, because it wasn’t too busy. There was a small section through a park, parched after a heatwave. There were also several interesting buildings, nice housing, and ghost signs to add interest....

Garratt Green was Garratt Brown after the scorching weather but a welcome open space....
Strider
The route follows pavement predominantly with a brief burst of greenery on Garratt Green....

Enjoyed this route due to the variety of London hustle and bustle, quiet residential streets, and walking through parks. It can get really busy and noisy at parts, but they aren't very long and it was a great way to get a glimpse of what's in this area. Good amenities at either end of the route....
Ingrina
From Earlsfield the route soon left a busy main road, to pass through nice arches, under some housing, and then across a pleasant footbridge over the pretty River Wandle....
Mary Oz
Quite a variety of architecture (and an estate Sadiq Khan grew up on, I am reliably informed)....
Strider
Route which makes excellent use of a string of parks which contrasts with the short sections of busy road....
David Sanderson
There's three parts to the route - a stretch with a good distance along a larger busier road with good pavements, a stretch through the lovely Garratt Green, and a brief walk along a quieter residential street on the way to Earlsfield....

- The route largely follows the Wandle Trail between Earslfield and Wandsworth, which means you'll follow a gorgeous series of excellent parks....

Nice route away from roads through King George's Park to Wandsworth, then using quiet residential streets to Putney....

Unless you have a particularly good reason to want to follow this route I'd recommend Putear Two, which is similar length, but considerably quieter, and has the advantage that it can be walked 24/7....
Jane Taylor
Good route making use of quiet residential streets between Putney and Wandsworth, and staying with the lit 24/7 section of King George's Park between Wandsworth and Earlsfield. Would recommend....

Very direct, not unpleasant, the roads aren't super-busy. If you want to get from Clapham Junction to Earlsfield with no distractions this is the route....

The route follows the Capital Ring up Magdalen Road, and past Wandsworth Prison to Wandsworth Common....

Mix of residential streets, some busy roads, and an off-road riverside path shared with cyclists. The riverside path is varied with some lovely areas and some more industrial. Probably the best route available for this Slow Way....

Walk this routeQuickest and most flat route between Tooting Broadway and Earlsfield station. Misses the lower part of Earlsfield 'centre', if you wanted more than just end to end, but is off the main roads as much as possible....

This is a good route that uses the excellent Wandle Trail from Earlsfield to Plough Lane and takes in backstreets from there to Wimbledon. Shops are available en route around Haydons Road....
