The section from Delph to Denshaw is less accessible although easy to follow....

The route eventually turns left along a short section of the Pennine Way before following a pack horse route down the valley towards Marsden, where the Riverhead Brewery Tap is highly recommended....

It predominantly uses byways and bridleways making route finding relatively easy. The section at the Denshaw end across open fields requires a little more care as the path is not obvious on the ground....

There are good public transport links with the Manchester Metrolink at Shaw and an hourly (two hourly on Sundays) bus service at Denshaw....
