Decent, some nice little managed woodlands on the way. A short stretch on the road. Not the most pleasant on the way into Burgess Hill, but can't be helped....
srsaunders
It is used by many students who attend Warden Park and Haywards Heath College. The section through Blunts Wood is paved and lit....
Fionric
It is also easy to extend the walk to Haywards Heath for trains back to Burgess Hill (as I did) or to/from London/Brighton....
MDendy
A bit of a slog through Burgess Hill to start with but once you hit the countryside, it’s a lovely route....
Ricky Coleman
Really direct and scenic. Good under foot even after rain. Will defo use this route again....
Ricky Coleman
The route starts off from behind the exclusive Ockenden Manor hotel and skirts the western fringes of Cuckfield, through woods and small fields to reach Whitemans Green. It is always a surprise when you cross the River Ouse to think that such a wide valley has been carved out by such a small river. Heading out of Balcombe again, the route descends into another valley and around the end of a small lake over a boardwalk. This is a walk which pays back the effort, revealing typical High Weald scenery; woodland, small fields, steep valleys and plenty of mud when it is wet....
Bostal Boy
Haywards Heath to Crawley via Cuckfield 29/10/2021 Leg One - CUCHAY Two. This is a route which is justifiably already snailed It’s a direct all-weather path with some nice views and mostly traffic-free....
Bostal Boy
Nice route with a good mix of woodland and open spaces. A few road sections without pavement, but these were fairly quiet. Fortunately not much mud today (late September) - only one section and it was easy to walk around....
dargue
The route links Cuckfield to Haywards Heath with the majority of the route on pavements on averagely busy roads. From Cuckfield, the walk goes through a churchyard through a gate and along a slightly gravelly private road. The route through Blunts Wood is on a tarmac path with streetlights....
Duckpond
As previous reviewer said, some sections had very long grass/overgrown foliage and there were some very muddy sections even in July....
HB
This follows some lovely paths through wooded High Weald scenery....
Bostal Boy
An off road route which passes through some attractive woods and offers some views south to Downs....

Mark Songi added Cuchay three, a new walk from Cuckfield to Haywards Heath
Walk this routeThe route is more direct yet still mostly off main roads....
James Sanders
I usually take the more direct route Cuchay two, which is also a better route for cyclists between these locations....
Mark Songi
This route is easier to follow than Cuchay 2....
Mark Songi
The short section along South Street, Cuckfield uses narrow or non-existent pavements but can be easily avoided by taking the path due south through the churchyard from Church Street....
Bostal Boy
The middle section between Wheatsheaf Lane and Blunts Wood provides attractive views and a short woodland section lit with streetlights after dark....

Bostal Boy added Cuchay two, a new walk from Cuckfield to Haywards Heath
Walk this routeAt the Cuckfield end I would suggest cutting down Church Street directly to the Church rather than going out to Church Platt and Church Street. This will shorten the route by several hundred yards....
