Taking you from Coseley along footpaths onto the Canal branch then joining the Birmingham Canal , which was a nice walk even in the rain. I took a slight detour and carried on the canal to view Coseley tunnel which is good to see. Overall a good walk and interesting which i would do again....

I completed this walk yesterday travelling northwards from Coseley. I really enjoyed the walk. After having read the other reviews, I don't have any other detail to add other than it's an interesting journey mainly along the canal and has historic industrial interest....

It takes in the Birmingham Canal and the Bradley Arm for the majority of it, with the small amount of street walking safe....

The street walking along Bridge Street is minimal before taking you to footpaths alongside a retirement home and then Clayton park, and then to the station....

A safe, direct, off-road and enjoyable route that mostly follows the canal! I wallked this Slow Way with Mary - it was super pleasant and peaceful. Highly recommend....

This was a brilliant Slow Way - direct, offroad, easy to follow and very enjoyable. I walked with this route Mary - we spotted a lot of wildfowl along the way, as well as colourful grafetti and interesting buildings. Would defo recommend!...

From the Coseley Station side road, an alleyway led down to the canal towpath which the route stuck to all the way to Wolverhampton....

From Tipton Station, with its metalwork arch, there was a path directly onto the towpath....

Walk this routeAt SO 9725 9430 the footpath has been fenced off and the route simply can not be followed without a diversion. I have submitted the route I followed as Coswed 2....

Walk this routeIt comprises of a peaceful stroll along the Birmingham Canal with a residential walk at the Coseley end and a walk along the pavement of the main road in central Wolverhampton at the other. There was no end of wildfowl on the canal which made the walk even better....

It's a walk I've done, not as a slow way, many times and I didn't remember the route from canal to station being quite so simple in Wolverhampton....

We walked it from Tipton to Coseley, and it follows the BCN Main Line canal for almost all the route, other than the last section where the canal passes through a tunnel under Coseley and the footpath goes up the hill through residential housing to Coseley station....

The route is not quite as straight as some of the other stretches of this canal, as it follows the contour line presumably to avoid the need for locks....

It isn't possible to cross the canal at the location shown, an alternative is to turn right at the junction of Cannon Drive and Anvil Crescent, before turning left on Rainbow Street to join the canal at Highfields Road....

The route through Tipton Green is quiet and residential, before joining the main road, Hurst Lane. In summary this is a good, direct and enjoyable route but could do with leaving the canal at a better place....

Walk this routeHaving left Castle Hill and passed the Zoo car park, the footpaths are a nice way to get to the edge of Tipton Green....

Following a series of footpaths and then joining the canal at a good spot, it's also offroad. Full marks!...

There's not a lot of walking along the main road and then a couple of residential side streets before you join a track into countryside....

This route looks ok on paper, however my personal knowledge highlights a problem, the route shown joins the Canal at Anvil Crescent. This is fine if you want to swim across the Canal (I wouldn't advise it though) There is no Towpath on this side of the canal....
