Help connect Corby

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Corby’s Slow Ways.

You must then follow the route carefully through a number of residential streets until leaving the edge of Kettering. There the next section is a nice riverside walk along the River Ise before crossing Pipe Lane and approaching the pretty stone village of Weekley with its thatched cottages, ancient school and almshouse and church. After a short walk along Stanford Road on the roadside path, the route crosses over to pass through a number of wildflower meadows, full of buttercups and daisies at this time of year. I would recommend passing directly through the village, for the path around the edge was again difficult to follow and seemed to bring no benefit, other than missing another nice village....

It was a good walk however we got lost at Stole Albany and ended up in Dingle and took another path in to Little Bowden. This was our fault, there are many paths that cross this area and not all are clearly marked on the ground or on a map. Still a good day out and better than watching hours of coronation stuff on the tv....

I had been looking for a route to link Corby and Kettering for a while and this is a good route. Walked with two friends and apart from the Little Oakley to Geddington stage, there are a lot of faint paths on this section, it was a great day out. This is one I'd walk again....

There are plenty of places to stop for a break and it is ideal for walkers who like a route a bit longer and more of a challenge....

Little road walking and few stiles, and its always a treat to visit Geddington. No navigation challenges, but I recommend taking Featherbed Lane between Little Oakley and the A43 crossing, and keeping eyes peeled for deer in Boughton Park....

Walk this route

This route visits some of Northamptonshire's prettiest villages with very little road walking, a variety of terrains and a well-placed cafe in Fineshade Woods. Navigation is easy, as the Jurassic Way is well signed, and the only "hazard" is crossing and re-crossing the A43. The section between Corby tunnel (signs that it may get muddy in winter) and the housing estate is a bit bleak, but soon traversed....
