Instead just go straight ahead along Sandy Lane to reach gates on your RHS into the playing field where you can rejoin the slow ways route....

It’s a gentle and straightforward walk with a good mix of fields, woodland, and road sections. However, the turn mentioned in below comment is masked by lush vegetation in the summer and can be easily missed, so keep an eye out as you approach....

At Woodland Farm, there is a large sign indicating it's a private road, but if you walk past it and around the house, you'll find public pathway signage that leads you back to the fields....

However, I would advise walkers on the Cotswold Way not to attempt crossing the very busy A417, as the cars on this road are very fast, and there are no safe crossings nearby. The route plotted here goes under the A417, which is a much safer and more sensible option....

It started with a fair bit of road walking and led to a small patch of woodland with a slight climb. Do not miss the Barrow Wake Viewpoint; it is only a few steps off the route. Towards the end of the walk from Brockworth to Colesbourne, there’s a stretch of muddy path, which wasn’t too much of a problem on a dry day....

We went from Colesbourne to Northleach, and most of the navigation is straightforward, but some parts will probably require a close eye on the map. The terrain is largely gentle, but there are overgrown parts in the summer that have bramble and nettle, and even long trousers couldn't keep the stinging away! Before reaching the end point of this route, we stopped by the Prison Cafe for lunch and refreshments, where there are also toilets and tables....

There are some amenities at Brockworth, but places like the library and the community centre, where you might be able to use toilets, are not open on weekends....

Ingrina added Brocol two, a new walk from Brockworth to Colesbourne
Walk this routeTurned right along path to Roman Villa ( NT, Toilets, Food ). Had recently followed your route to Chedworth; this is a good all-weather route....

I walked it South to North, from Colesbourne to Cheltenham, and while I imagine a few parts would be a bit steep in the other direction, it skirts around the edge of Leckhampton hill so avoids any truly drastic slopes. If you’re walking from Cheltenham, you can park at Royal Well Car Park, a very short distance Southwest of the starting route: ///planet.passes.button....

At Chedworth Nature Reserve the Slow Ways route follows a path through the woods that doesn’t exist....

Minor tweak: The footpath bridge over the former railway line near Sandy Lane is closed (no date for reopening), so a mild (5-minute?) detour is needed -- where the bridge is blocked off, follow the turn to the left to Sandy Lane, then walk up Sandy Lane and turn right to enter the park, where you can rejoin the route through the corner of the park. Very pleasant walk from the centre of Cheltenham to Colesbourne, finishing neatly at the Colesbourne Inn. A good mix of town, hill and fields and beech avenues, with interesting views and landmarks (particularly the Round House at Pinswell)....

However (and this is not a criticism of the route which I think is the best currently possible) the 2nd part of the walk from North Cerney is not a s smooth....
