Help connect Bury

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Bury’s Slow Ways.

One of my favorite walks, this route follows well trod paths along the river Irwell. The town center section gets off-road fairly quickly following the National Cycle Route 6. The path goes through the Burrs Country park with has food & drink available, and then follows the Irwell to Summerseat and then on into Ramsbottom....

I followed the route on View Ranger and only once or twice went off route but easily spotted it and got back on track....
