JohnMyerson added Bilhor two, a new walk from Billingshurst to Horsham
Walk this routeOne other thing to watch for: part of the route goes across an estate north of New Rd and West of West Chiltington Lane which has some very aggressive 'no public public right of way' signs, which are misleading as you are actually walking a public footpath (whose signs needs some maintenance)....

Did this route in two sections, the second very wet with some paths almost streams - but that was exceptional weather. Decent route, mostly flat. Some nice woods and fields, one fast road to cross - be careful!...

I'd second the point about the steps up-and-over the A29, which is was a little overgrown and brambly at the time, but overall this really is a great walk....

Bostal Boy added Loxbil two, a new walk from Loxwood to Billingshurst
Walk this routeOnce you get to the Canal, follow the Wey South Path signs all the way to Loxwood. There is one very short section along the Newpound Road (B2133) where the pavement gives way to a narrow verge just before you cross the road to pick up the footpath again....

Bostal Boy added Petbil three, a new walk from Petworth to Billingshurst
Walk this routeI thought this was a glorious walk which probably trumps PETBIL Two by leaving Billingshurst by a more amenable path. The route is along field paths and woodland paths, picking up sections of the Sussex Diamond Way, the Wey South Path and the Serpent Trail along the way....
Bostal Boy
From then on the route uses field paths and some short sections of quiet lanes to reach Barns Green at the approximate half-way point. As well as the usual gates, stiles and footbridges, there is a gate (photo #6), that is stuck fast just before Barns Green which I had to climb over. Barns Green has a pub and village store for refreshments. Heading out of Barns Green, the route runs alongside the Arun Valley railway line for a couple of miles up to Christs Hospital school....

Sections on bridleways heavily used by equestrians, particularly in the woods near Southwater, were very churned up....
jgrh14
It leaves Southwater by Blinks Wood and follows various footpaths and bridleways through the woodland of the Dragons Estate. The countryside was peaceful and pretty for the whole route up to and including the outskirts of Billingshurst....
Bostal Boy
One footpath is closed and it takes you on to the Petworth lorry bypass route which is dangerous especially as there is no footpath and the traffic is fast!...
BecciWest
The biggest problem with this route is near the Petworth end, it goes on to Kingspit Road which is the lorry bypass route for Petworth and there is no pavement, very dangerous even if only for around 50 meters....
