This route started by skirting a shopping centre in Belle Vale then followed a few alleyways past housing and was quieter than the start of GarBel Two....

The route appeared accurate north of Woolton Hill Road, although it does look very inaccurate on the Slow Ways map....

Walk this route

A good walking route linking the two places, but the terrain and lack of ramps in places makes this very much a foot-only route, despite trying hard to find an accessible-to-all option....

Walk this route

The footpath around the solar and sewage farms are overgrown and impassable (although there are alternative routes); the footpath from the sewage farm to a quiet unpaved farm road has been closed and barricaded with a series of fences, with no notices or diversions in place; and to get to the next footpath, you have to navigate an unpaved access road around an estate....

A good route with off-road sections, followed by a lengthy paved road walk....

Walk this route

The route is mostly sound, but for me, the routing from Woolton Hill Road to the end is vague and inaccurate, and the walk along Gateacre Brow and Belle Vale Road a long road walk that whilst direct, is not attractive....

I've verified this route, but only with the caveat that the route I have submitted as LIVBEL Two is to be followed, as it gives a more accurate representation of the route of the ground....

My review for LIVBEL One still stands, but please follow this route for a more accurate representation of what exists on the ground....

Walk this route

Agree with previous reviewer: there is no access from Menlove Avenue to Vale Road as there is no path in existence, making the entire Allerton Towers/Golf Course walk unnecessary. The rest of the route is good enough, and GARBEL Two confirms this....

A very enjoyable route that takes in many great sights and beautiful green spaces in South Liverpool with some excellent pubs and coffee places along the way in case a stop is required....

Walk this route

Lovely, short walk through green spaces in Liverpool with some excellent views over the region from Woolton Woods and Reynolds Park. Mostly accessible for those walking and wheeling, but does contain some unpaved paths and paths made uneven by tree roots....

Walk this route

A serviceable urban route overall, but it has some issues in terms of accessibility, including a former right of way that has been entirely blocked off by a wall (see photo 1), and steep steps and narrow walkway near Castle Street (photos 2 & 3). Will upload another route to avoid these obstacles....

You can then walk easily along Windsor Street to reach your first park - Princes Park, which was Liverpool's first public park. Continuing along the quieter part of Allerton Road you will eventually reach the entrance to Calderstones Park, and a straightforward path takes you straight across, passing the Mansion House. Greenbank Park is also just off the route and houses a lovely walled garden with a memorial to Eleanor Rathbone, the feminist and social reformer, who lived in Greenbank House nearby. Calderstones Park is named after the Neolithic Calder Stones, which can be viewed at the rear of the Mansion House; it also has a 1000 year-old oak tree (just off the route) and you pass the entrance for the gorgeous walled garden, incorporating an Old English Garden and a Japanese garden. There is no shortage of places to eat or buy provisions en route - Sefton, Greenbank and Calderstones Park all have cafes and there are also many places to eat on the busier part of Allerton Road. Instead of Windsor Street, you can reach Princes Park by turning left up Parliament Street to walk along Princes Avenue....
