Help connect Barham

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Barham’s Slow Ways.

Latest Updates

It is a slight tweak to make it as easy to follow as possible and also to go through more of Elham village which is attractive and such a small detour that it's worth it to go past the shop and several places to eat. It follows the Elham Valley Way nearly from one village to the other. This avoids the "busy/dangerous road" from the LymBar 1 review and follows the Elham Valley Way for longer. Elham village has a shop, several pubs, tearooms plus bus route 17 which also stops at Lyminge and a few other places along the road can be easily reached....

ShortLegsLongWalk

Walk this route

Pleasant walk, lots to see along the way such as Bourne Park House and Charlton Park. Quite hilly in places, and many kissing gates, some kept in better condition than others. One near Bourne Park has tangled exposed roots, which may be challenging to those in wheelchairs....

Walk this route

It’s generally easy to navigate, although there are some points where you lose the path through open pasture land or in wooded sections. Planning the route in advance and taking a map will certainly help. It’s very, very easy to lose the path....
