Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.
Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.
Give a hike and help get a for every one of Bannockburn’s Slow Ways.

F Berry added Stiban three, a new walk from Stirling to Bannockburn
Walk this routeIt is very direct, but would be impossible for wheelers due to the boggy stretch in Balquhidderock Wood, and the steps in Ladywell Park up from (or down to) the Bannock Burn....

Just north of Ladywell Park the route descends a ramped path to a bridge which has been damaged by recent storms. I have given this route 4 stars because it is indirect, and because of the damaged bridge and the possibility that some of the route may be flooded during time of spate....

Review of SlowWays Route Bankin2 (Bannockburn to Kincardine). The first part of the route (or last, if coming the other way) heads out of Kincardine and across the Kincardine on Forth Bridge. The route then follows a quiet country road before emerging on the A 905. Turning right here (the signpost is hidden by thick foliage) leads onto a good track to Cowie (with excellent, panoramic views) and then metalled roads through the village and out again via Bannockburn Road....

Walk this routeReview of SlowWays Route Bankin1 (Bannockburn to Kincardine). I walked this route on a day of sunshine and showers in June 2022. The main challenges with the route are (1) a section on roadway with no pavement; (2) a section along the edge of a cereal field with no discernible footpath and (3) an apparent block to the route which requires a significant detour....

This is a fairly utilitarian route between Stirling and Bannockburn. The first 3km is mainly along urban streets and is a bit monotonous. It then becomes more rural and finishes through a park....
