Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Very nice and popular walk, an alternative to the Christmas Pie Trail, which goes to the Surrey Research Park. That trail is shorter, but goes through a more residential area at the Guildford end: https://www.routeyou.com/en-gb/route/view/4387002/mountain-bike-route/christmas-pie-trail...

The military camp is nice wide, North Camp is residential, Aldershot and Farnborough are busy....

Frequently Waterlogged and muddy between coleford bridge road and kebur, virtually impassable...

Obviously not the most direct route and in my opinion, given the Blackwater Valley Path runs along the very busy, polluted and noisy A331 there is very little advantage to using this. Better follow the pedestrian and cycle paths around the airfield, Shoe Lane and Basingstoke Canal if you are looking for greenspaces on your journey....

An interesting and varied route starting with an urban street section in Aldershot then sandy open heathland leading to the parkland of Farnham Park and finally attractive side streets into Farnham town centre. There is a very steep ascent to the exit from the heathland into the side streets of Upper Hale and then a gentle decent down through Farnham Park past the Castle....

Starting from Ash Vale station the route joins the Basingstoke Canal towpath at the wharf where canal boats used to be built and repaired. The towpath continues to Ash lock where the route leaves the canal and follows roads through Aldershot Military town....

The path to the south with views of the North Downs and open countryside starts a bit closer to Guildford with paths leading across to it from around the pylons....

This route crosses the Long Valley high speed vehicle training area and is subject to frequent closures, and follows little used tracks across boggy ground. An alternative route would possibly provide more enjoyment, although possibly longer. It is not a route I would choose to walk again....

Nice route maximising the off road journey by using the Basingstoke canal, the towpath route is level and compacted. The route was walked following a day of rain so there were puddles and some mud. Roadside pavements across the route were good although there was one crossing with two kerbs with no drop/ramp....
