13 Jun 2022If you want to try a walkable and accurate version of this Slow Way, please see Yarmil two which I will submit as the route I walked. Indirect as it is, it wasn't until I got to the concrete cows that the route plotted becomes innacurate. It specifically takes you across the bridge to follow the Midshires Way and then changes its mind under the bridge when you are already on the wrong side of the water course. The plotting is unhelpful at Thrupp Wharf where it tells you to change bank but doesn't mark how. If I had any doubts about failing this route, then the plot directly across a field of crops to a non existent gap in the fence at Yardley Gobion was the clincher.

16 May 2021Good route after getting through a difficult muddy/slippery section outside of Yardley Gobion. Towpath section is scenic and good paths generally. Route through Milton Keynes was very ‘green and leafy’, avoiding the urban areas. Route goes passed the Concrete Cows, a Roman villa, and three canalside pubs. There is a more direct route in the section from Wolverton to Milton Keynes Central, but it is worth taking taking the suggested route if you have time.
