I walked this solo on the 26th November 2022. This is a perfectly acceptable Slow Way with no issues. It is easy to follow and accurately plotted. It only loses a star for me because it wasn't particularly interesting.
Most of the route is on downland paths where the South Downs National Park butts up against the scruffy edges of Brighton. There were some quiet, peaceful sections and some nice views of the sea.
I encountered some horses and riders on the bridlepaths, sheep in the fields but no cattle. There were a number of gates but no stiles. Some of the paths were slippery with chalky mud.
There is a corner shop at the half way point at the edge of Saltdean, but no other facilities.
