02 Oct 2023A reasonable route, not a lot of greenery on large parts, but a lot of fairly quiet backstreets. A couple of places on the way to stop for a break.
Strider
28 Dec 2021I walked from Enfield to Wood Green. This is a rather monotonous walk, neither pleasant or unpleasant, through suburban residential streets. Apart from the A406 the streets are generally wide and quiet with green spots but no parks.
There is a narrow uneven part but okay for wheels, generally downhill going South.

17 May 2021The route does a good job of finding quieter routes through a very urban area. Some very traffic is unavoidable (e.g. crossing the A406), but this is generally a enjoyable walk. A couple of deviations from main roads could be changed to avoid using poorly maintained back streets/paths (use Elm Park Road instead of Sherbrook Gardens in Winchmore Hill; also use Melville Gardens after crossing A406 instead of separate pathway). The path alongside the New River in Winchmore Hill also needs to be followed all the way down to the gate onto Highfield Road (see photo).

25 May 2021Just to be clear, the photo shows the New River Path, which is separate from the parallel public footpath used by the Slow Ways route. The SW route joins Highfield Road 100m to the east of the location in the photo and is not gated.
