21 Aug 2022A good suburban walk that skirts tantalisingly close to green spaces.
The route is tarmac and pavement throughout, and there are no major inclines, only a slight one up Downhills Park Road. No notable obstacles in terms of gates or styles etc. As suggested by other reviewers, if you'd like more greenery, follow the path adjacent to the road up through Downhills Park.
On parks, Belmont Recreation Ground has a dedicated picnic area, Downhills Park has an ornamental garden, and there's also the wetland with associated wildlife off Forest Road.
A short diversion down Mill Mead Road takes you to a couple of great north London Breweries - Beavertown and Pressure Drop. Both have tap rooms open weekends (definitely check their websites for opening times!). Perfect if you fancy a pint mid-way.

22 May 2022I walked from Walthamstow to Wood Green.
A wonderful start dawdling through the Saturday market along the pedestrianised high street, full of interest. A bit downhill after this, fairly monotonous pavements and concrete after this. Shops and train stations. Tottenham Well was interesting, built when Tottenham's population was 3000. Green spaces seemed tauntingly in sight to the left and right, reservoirs, nature parks, bowling greens, and recreation grounds. Like the previous reviewer I went through Downhills Park parallel to the route and was rewarded with a café, benches and trees. Then back to the pavement all the way to Wood Green.
This is not a bad walk, direct and functional. It is hard to see how the green spaces could be incorporated without doubling the length of the route. Good for wheels.

18 Jan 2022I walked this route from Wood Green to Walthamstow. It's entirely on smooth pavements and almost entirely along roads but the scenery is quite varied and diverse and I really enjoyed the route overall!
Instead of sticking to the road along the Downshills Park, I walked along the road but inside the park, which I found really pleasant and lovely.
Even when the route passed along bigger roads, I found they were more lively with shops and people and not just car-heavy, which made them more enjoyable.
The stretch between the reservoirs wasn't as scenic as I expected, as you can't quite see much water over the various embankments that have been constructed.
The pedestriansed High Street was very lively and there were lots of shops to grab a bite to eat at the end of the walk!.
