05 Sep 2022This route was pretty direct but very boring, nearly all along road pavements. It started in Birkenhead with a rare lack of cars by entering a pedestrianised shopping centre. However, the gate into this is locked when the shopping centre is closed and you'd need to use roads if that was the case.
After this there was a gradual climb leaving the town and shops for improving housing. About half way there is a pub (beyond the church), and the route starts gradually descending through quieter housing estates. There is a brief break from roads heading down towards and under the railway, and under the motorway, through a rather dark subway.
Then it's back to suburban roads until the end of the route. Probably mostly wheelable but there are some kerbs and a cycle barrier. A functional route, not especially pleasant.

26 Nov 2021Urban walk through Birkenhead, through Oxton, and ending up a Woodchurch. Well-paved throughout.
