Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

27 Jun 2021I feel a bit harsh giving this route 2 stars, as it _did_ get me from Leighton to Winslow, but only just. There were multiple occasions where the route was very overgrown, under-used and poorly (or not) signed-posted, a few cases where I had to force my way through dense undergrown, two pretty dubious footbridges (one I was very tentative about using), and one case where I had to climb a barbed wire fence.
I would definitely recommend taking the Cross Bucks Way (CBW) wherever possible - for some reason this route takes smaller (and worse) footpaths even when CBW is available. CBW isn't a panacea though - I had to climb over a fence on that route at one way.
If I were walking between Leighton and Winslow again I'd do the bit between Leighton and Stewkley by road rather than the route suggested here. I'd follow CBW between Stewkley and Winslow.
