Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

14 Mar 2022I walked Wincre 2, but I am able to confirm that Wincre 1, which is almost the same and could be viewed from Wincre 2, is unsuitable to be included in the network due to the busy narrow road at Church Minshull, as described by Ken.

13 Mar 2022Inspecting wincre-1 on the map and Google Street View, before the walk, identified the short section of road between the canal bridge and Church Minshull as a bit iffy. The road is busy used as a rat run Crewe to Winsford. There is no verge and no pavement. The route via the village is a detour. Elsewhere this route climbs a steep although short hill in Winsford and avoids quiet roads near Crewe station. I therefore recommend using wincre-2 unless a visit to Church Minshull is essential.
