25 Feb 2023Safe, direct and easy to follow but maybe rather dull, particularly at the Wimbledon end. I felt like it left the main road too early and missed out on some great shops and eateries. Saying that, the relatively quiet residential pavements you walk on are well used by locals, so seem to be the local choice. The road in Tooting is busier and less pleasant to walk alongside, but there is more interest at that end. In the mid section, crossing the Wandle was a highlight.

31 Jan 2023I walked from Tooting to Wimbledon.
Agree with the other reviewers, a fairly straightforward urban walk between two town centres. All along roadside pavements. Flat and direct, okay for wheels (taking into account the usual street furniture).
Lots of interesting things to look out for along the way. Shops, cafes, pubs, etc at either end and along the way.

14 Mar 2022Overall, good walk between Tooting Broadway and Wimbledon. I started at Tooting Broadway and ended at Wimbledon. Tooting High Street is not very pleasant to walk on, but seems to be the most direct and is fairly wide. I enjoyed the walk from when it goes through Wandle Meadow Nature Park to Wimbledon and it was in general interesting to see the changes in architecture. Safe, pretty easy to navigate!.

23 Aug 2021I walked part of this route in August 2021 from Colliers Wood to Wimbledon. It was straightforward and no problems. It seems to follow signposted cycle routes.
As you would expect, it was all on pavements.

11 May 2021A good route for cyclists but not so good for walkers, as it is all on roads, and Tooting High Street is not pleasant.
At the Wimbledon end, South Park Road is very long, and a short diversion to take in the beautiful South Park Gardens (cafe) is worthwhile. Go left on Kings Road then right on Dudley Road to the park gate. Cross the park to the Trinity Road gate & turn right back to South Park Road & turn left. I also suggest going through Haydons Road Rec, by turning right off South Park Road on Bridges Road then left on Latimer Road past the Victorian Swimming Pool, right on Wycliffe Road & left on Quicks Road to the corner of the Rec. Cross the Rec to the main gate in Haydons Road, cross the road & go along a path opposite between houses & across greens, eventually to East Road. Cross to South Road to pick up the original route across the river Wandle & past the former leather factory.
To avoid Tooting High Street, I suggest using the footbridge over the railway at the end of Boundary Road. Cross Kenlor Road & Blackshaw Road, then enter St George's Hospital & follow the perimeter road as far as the side gate into Effort Street. Then right into Hoyle Road to Tooting High Street, near to Tooting Broadway station.

27 Apr 2021Good route for the most part; although the section along Tooting High St can be very polluted, the alternative would involve an awkward footbridge over the railway.
