Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

21 Sep 2024This route was direct and the roads were low in traffic: Queens Road in particular was quieter than I'd expected from maps. I'd also be surprised if there is a better alternative route here, Slow Ways criteria or not.
The Wandle-side path is the obvious highlight, albeit there were many more cyclists on my visit than runners plus walker (me) combined, probably weekday late afternoon commuters. I thought they were considerate though and the path is well set back from the river so no chance of falling in which people do worry about on canal towpath cycling routes. The river seems very healthy with lots of jewel green water plants below the clear water although being set back also means it's not as visible all the time, but that's better for the wildlife. There are information boards at the northern end if you want to know more about the fish, the history, etc. There's even a bench at ///crazy.hails.apply if you can see it, the nettles were very abundant.

13 Nov 2021Mix of residential streets, some busy roads, and an off-road riverside path shared with cyclists.
The riverside path is varied with some lovely areas and some more industrial.
Probably the best route available for this Slow Way.

27 Apr 2021This is a good route that uses the excellent Wandle Trail from Earlsfield to Plough Lane and takes in backstreets from there to Wimbledon. Shops are available en route around Haydons Road.
