Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

09 Jun 2024A really good walk, nice surfaces and not too many uneven bits, plenty of walkers, runners and cyclists out and about. Beautiful views and very quiet.

03 Jan 2024This is one of our favourite walks. We always stop for a hot drink at the bench outside the church and usually a brief stop to look at the winding pond prior to that, which also has a bench. It's not quite so nice walking on the pavement down from the uni, but you can always stop at Wetherspoons for a quick drink at the bottom! There are a couple of short bits which are quite steep, but it gets the lungs working. The paths are fairly clear of vegetation, though there are parts that can get a little soggy when it's been raining heavily. Overall a very nice walk and I'll definitely be doing it again.

30 May 2023This route is good if you want to get from Canterbury to Whitstable via Blean (or get from Whitstable to Blean). The route is efficient and avoids the road, which will be much more enjoyable than following Whitstable Road which is quite busy.
