I walked this route from Radcliffe. The first section is alongside quiet roads and then the surfaced Holme Lane before reaching the unsurfaced byway past The Firs. Shortly after the drive to 'Blotts' a stile takes you onto the Skylarks nature reserve. Walking in a straight line eventually it reaches cabins/containers. Continuing straight on is a thin path through the woods emerging onto the Adbolton Lane through a gap in the fence. This last section is along the line where the OS mark a track, but from the cabins is not a formal track. Had I turned right at the cabins I assume that you can reach the lane through the carpark. Adbolton Lane has no pavement but it is quiet and there is a wide flat grass verge to walk along. After Church Farm (City bus terminus) the route is on quiet residential roads. A pleasant and quiet walk.

Direct and really the only walking route available unless using cycleway pavement alongside A52. Easy to follow and good surface, no stiles or gates. Road serving Water Sports Centre has good side path but beyond there shared with light traffic. Section by Holme Pierrepont Hall is rough so less traffic. Off road section no entrance found at west end, enter reserve via car park a little further around crescent, not worth submitting a new route for. Radcliffe on Trent meeting point should be moved to SK 64607 39225 Grange Hall. Campsite at Water Sports Centre.

Lots of roads but they were quiet roads.
