Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

18 May 2023 (edited 18 Nov 2023)I have submitted an improved version of this route - please walk it instead. It's safer, only 530m longer, the steepest hill is slightly less brutal (but you'll get a better look at the views from the top) and the line is a tighter fit to the paths.
Flagged as "Maybe wouldn't recommend" because of the no-pavement walking along Old Hill near Orpington. It has high banks where it is cut into the hill and is fairly narrow and twisting and plenty of traffic being so close to Orpington. There's no need to walk it at all as there is a perfectly good path running just parallel through publicly owned Old Hill Common and High Elms Country Park.

18 May 2023PS There were some dodgy stiles at the Kent end of the walk you may literally need to climb. But the public transport to Westerham is far better than you might think - various Kent area buses and London buses from Bromley 2 per hour, 7 days a week.
