Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

08 Jan 2023Almost a good route, but as Ken's review says the A52 crossing is not safe and involves stepping over crash barriers, and the road walk at the Cotgrave end is unpleasant and can easily be avoided by walking through the country park. I have test walked a better version and will add it as WESCOT 4.

26 Jan 2022Most is good but.............not a safe crossing of the busy main road at Gamston. Great shame that no provison was made here as the canal is a very good walk. From Cotgrave steps up to the verge then nothing only a road crash barrier. Duel carriage way with two more barriers on the central reservation. Clearly there is demand for a safe crossing here with evidence that lots of folk take the risk, as I did but no way can I recommend that you follow in my footsteps.

04 May 2021Nice walking by the canal. We also cycled and has a last descent by road into Cotgrave which if walking has a pavement all the way.

26 Jan 2022Don't know how you managed to cycle across the main road at Gamston.
