Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

04 Apr 2023Agree with Chris. This is a pleasant walk. We live in Woolston, which is mid way so we do both ways there and back which is approximately 9 miles. The only problem is that it is linear. Buses do run between either end but not very often.

15 Aug 2021I suppose this is what Slow Ways is all about: a route that strings together a series of semi-rural footpaths through an almost entirely urban area. Not often completely delightful but rarely totally awful, and the section between the M62 and Culcheth is very pleasant indeed. Accurately mapped, except for immediately after the M62, where you should stick to the lower path to the right of the plotted route (i.e right of the path marked in green on the OS). Follow this all the way to the ponds, without being tempted onto the larger upper path/road. Not suitable for wheelchairs due to footbridge at Birchwood station, and several sections with rough footpaths and steps.
