Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

26 Sep 2023I’m not sure why there are 2 routes listed, as they are essentially the same way.
Wadworth is a pretty village with an excellent butchers/café on Carr Lane. We enjoyed their pork pies at the beginning of this route. There's also a pub and general shop.
The route must be one of the straightest on the whole of Slow Ways, starting with a road, then a track, over a footbridge and finally a path across the ex-slag heaps, now re-growing with greenery.
This leads you into the large ex-colliery village of Rossington, where the route goes along the wide avenue – effectively a very quiet dual carriageway, with a grassy, tree-lined central reservation dotted with park benches. There’s a small Asda for supplies and a Community Library for other facilities.
If you need to walk between these two places, this is the obvious route, but it’s nothing special.

26 Sep 2023Fuller review & photos posted under Pete. Straightforward route - if you need to walk between these 2 places it’s the obvious way, but it’s nothing special.

21 Sep 2023As a route between the two places this is direct and safe and perfectly usable. It's not as diverse in scenery as Conisbrough to Wadworth but it absolutely does the job.
