Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

03 Jul 2023It's not the most pleasant walk as it goes along the road quite a bit, however it certainly is an adventure. You must venture through a horse fields, climb a fence, go through many styles, cross roads, walk on rocky road and go through a large overgrown patch that will appeal to many but not to others. It is not accessible to those with disabilities but can be fun.

21 Aug 2022I started at Virginia Water and the first uncertainty about the right way appeared when I was approaching Bridge Lane. The path is a bit overgrown there and it's easy to get stung by nettles. The way up to Bridge Lane from the river Bourne is not straight as shown on the map but inclined right and left so the climb is not so steep.
As the route continues along Lyne Lane, there is no road edge and there is often not much space to step aside when cars are approaching. However, cars drive relatively slowly there.
The highlight of the route is certainly the walk through Homewood Park next to Botley's Mansion which is worth a visit on its own.
The last stretch before Ottershaw between horse enclosures requires crossing Guildford Road which can be rather busy and walkers may need to wait for some time to cross it safely.
In general, it was easy to follow the route.
