Description
This route uses the footpath (marked as a bridleway) starting at the end of Pleasant View in Ton Pentre. Between this bridleway and the wind turbines, you need a flexible attitude: there are paths which are not marked on the map, while the marked rights of way may not be apparent. It's open access land though, and much of the terrain is grass, so it's fairly easy with a map and good visibility. The Ferndale side of the hill is more straightforward

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

13 Nov 2021I enjoyed this hill walk, although the Ton Pentre side of the hill was a bit confusing: sometimes I wasn’t sure whether I was on a sheep path used by the occasional human or a human path used by a lot of sheep. If walking towards Ferndale, head towards the wind turbines - and don’t do this route in fog!.
