Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

09 Jun 2021Generally a useful route, but I have 2 issues with it. First, in Torquay it generally follows busy roads, rather than finding a quieter route (say, via Rock Walk, over the Warberries and Warberry Copse to Walls Hill). I'm happy to define an alternative route if required. I don't believe that this section meets the Slow Ways criteria at present. Secondly, the crossing of the A379 on the approach to Shaldon is lethal. It involves a short stretch where there is a blind bend, a great deal of traffic at speed, and no verge. It would be better to follow the Coast Path right into Shaldon - quieter, more attractive and less likely to be fatal.
