01 Jun 2021The first half of the route is easy to follow but the Rochdale Way section (Warland to Littleborough) is very tricky - there's no marked route on the ground and so many sheep tracks that it's very difficult to know where to go unless you constantly check the map. Coming off the moors into Littleborough (at Clough), the public footpath marked on the map seems to hit a fence with no obvious route through, so I had to climb over.
If I were to walk the route again I'd use this as a rough guidance and find my own way rather than trying to stick to the Slow Ways route.
Despite that, it's a lovely walk with great views of the valley for most of the way (which is why I gave it 2 stars).
I walked back to Todmorden via the canal which avoided any navigation difficulties!.
