Description
As TIVSIL one but avoiding the Private Road at Lower Roach. An excellent route, tough with big climbs. Riverside along the Exe some steep climbs on byways and road. Superb views

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

30 Aug 2022The southern section between Silverton & Bickleigh is generally on small roads/lanes, although some of them are too small for vehicles, so at least quiet and generally traffic-free. It also includes a noticeable climb of a hill north of Silverton, which does provide some pleasant views south towards the coast. The northern half of the route between Bickleigh and Tiverton is mostly on decent footpaths beside the River Exe.

19 May 2022All on paths or roads small enough to feel safe. I started in Silverton and got all the hills over and done with at the start. There were beautiful views over the exe valley.
The only bit which is less well signposted is the entrance to the footpath after Bickleigh Mill (good food, acceptable coffee). The path is to the right of the mill, left of Valleyside barns.

31 Oct 2021A version which follows TIVSIL1 but avoids the private road, detouring on a public footpath.
