Description
This is a wet weather option, for when the Exe floods and the Exe valley Way path between Collipriest and Bickleigh becomes impassable. This a great route in its own right but does involve a big climb up to the top of Exeter hill near Gogwell Lane and a road section between Gogwell and Butterley. The road section is however pleasant

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

07 Nov 2022A pleasant route that does miss out on the usually excellent walk along the banks of the Exe. But a good option after heavy rain. The route also misses out on the pub and cafe at Bickleigh. However, the Butterleigh Inn which is just off route in the village of Butterleigh is well worth a visit.
