02 Aug 2022 (edited 22 Aug 2022)I undertook this route from CD to Tidworth, and whilst 0.80 mi longer than Tidcol one, it is significantly easier, and less stressful. The route takes in the full length of Mill Lane bridlepath, followed by a greater length of quiet tarmac road. The increased section of by way just beyond Sunny hill farm removes the non legal section of track in Tidcol one.
NOTE : A new restricted by way comes into legal use on 13/10/22 when a shorter route from SU 24428 51684 to SU 24422 51270 is available, this is route Tidcol three
The section around Windmill Hill follows the well defined 'on the ground' track which comes out near the roundabout at Windmill Drive in Tidworth, from there it is a easy drop down the A3026 on lit pavement to the finish point.
