Description
Just like TenRye 1 but using path positions rather than approximations so there is effectively already a 5 star review of this route. The idea is a less ambiguous GPS line should be easier to follow especially if using the Slow Ways app.
Multiple places to shop or sit to buy food along the way at Peasmarsh and Small Hythe or a short distance off route at Wittersham (though pub here is permanently closed). Also Small Hythe Hall (National Trust) probably has a cafe at the entrance. Bus routes 312 and 313 also intersect the route. See small map.
It follows the High Weald Landscape Trail or the Sussex Border Path except for two deviations around Peasmarsh. Both are "promoted routes" so conditions underfoot, stiles, etc are much more likely to be in a decent state in my experience. That might have been an easier choice. To be fair the original Slow Ways design criteria said "not to be distracted" by such routes and also said approximations were fine it's just not always best in practice. Also the High Weald trail goes through some orchards which could have been a nice bonus at blossom time

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.
